I've rarely updated an Arab stateman's profile with as much relish as I just did Hosni Mubarak's, changing his status as president of Egypt to the past tense. It had slipped my mind that when I'd originally written that profile, about a year or so ago, I'd described his iron grip on Egyptian society as providing "the ingredients of revolution."
