Readers Respond: Should Palestinians Declare Their Own State?

Responses: 2

From , former About.com Guide

In September 2011, the Palestinian Authority sought to gain full-state status at the United Nations through a vote of the Security Council. The United States was expected to cast a veto, blocking Palestinian statehood on behalf of Israel, which vehemently opposes independence for Palestinians absent negotiations on Israeli terms, which have failed to take place. Palestinians have not been willing to accept Israeli terms nor accept continued Israeli construction of colonies on Arab land. Isn't it time for Palestinians to take matters in their own hands and declare their own state, as Israel did in 1948?

Palestine deserves their own Statehood now and forever!! Only when justice is served in Palestine can the Middle East return to normalacy!!

Should Palestinians Declare Own State?

HELL! YES! Palestinians have always been ready, willing and able to negotiate Peace with israel. The lies and misconceptions spread by israel that "Palestine (The Holy Land) nor her people exist", much less that they were ever mentioned in the Bible, which versions of "Truth" seem to change with the seasons, nor the Holy Qur'an, is a bunch of hogwash, to whitewash israeli WAR CRIMES and CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY, i.e. PALESTINIANS, and to pander to the western world, who is so guilt-ridden over the Holocaust, because most didn't want the Jews anymore than Germany, though most will never admit this truth, and most westerners will take the israeli word as "gospel", because they still don't want them today anymore than then. Palestine, as any nation, has the right to sovereignty and to be a full-fledged members of the United Nations, which is a morally bankrupt and corrupt organization anyway, since they ignore israel's war crimes and all impunity executed upon Palestine and her People.
