NoO WAY

people should just mind their own business about forcing Muslim woman who already wear the Burqa to take it off. they have not been forced to wear it but wear it for the sake of their religion. don't blame the Muslims for the terrorism happening around the world blame the Israelis and Americans for making it sound like it is the Muslims

It is highly offensive to see women wearing burqas or hajibs in public, and yes I think they should be banned. From a public security perspective, it should be illegal to wear them in public. From an emotional perspective, they are highly offensive. They are saying that men do not have tha ability not to lust after an uncovered woman or that the wearer is somehow more modest or more pleasing to God. This is patently untrue. The Bible ststes that a womans hair is given to her as a covering and that it is her glory. It also shows her submission to God. The Burqa is a counterfeit to modesty and offensive. It is an icon to the barbaric way muslim men treat their women, even refusing to let them be educated or drive cars. Women should have equal social rights as men and should be allowed to dress as they please as long as it is not lewd. I appreciate religious sensibilities and am offended by inappropriate attire as well, but the public wearing of burqas should be illegal in public, period.

Go home!!!!

These people are a discrase. They do not respect our laws or rules they come here to our country and expext us to change to their religion and they dispise us but if we go to their country it is a different story if we get caught for stealling there they chop your fingers off!!!!! Am I the only one to see they are migrating and they will soon run our country I think these people should get every thing they diserve they should be sent back to wherever the hell they came from!!!!!!!!!

yes

yes, we shouldn't allow burqas to be worn in public places they must be banded.
—Guest kim

we should ban it

we should ban it in Australia because it is offensive to others and it is a criminal offence as well and it is used as a disguise for no copers will no its them
—Guest deejay chukkie

No

If you want terrorism in your backyard, then ban the burqa.
—Guest Dog

yes

security threat, hardly any muslims wear veils, is not manditory in they Quarn.
—Guest doe

Yes it should be

Agree with Cory Bernardi. People come here must follow the country's law, if they don't want to obey then find another place to live. It is about the security risks. I don't care about terrorist or sth like that since it is not very likely to happen in Australia. What I care is people stealing things right in front of my face: my mom has a shop, and many Muslim women just put stuffs in their burqa then walk away. Once they have put stuffs inside their burqa, how can we find out?

WHAT ABOUT...

if women wore white ones, making it slightly more visible, hence a compromise?
—Guest shteven

Think HARDER!

Security? Get a female security guard; females are allowed to view other females (clad in burqas). Suppressing females? No! Under many anonymous surveys (for Muslim women) wearing burqas is their choice entirely! It is like a Jewish man wearing a kipa... They both have a religious or cultural belief in it, so let 'em have it! And yes, cultural belief! It was how they grew up, so we should respect their way of living. We're in Canada for Pete's sake! And lemme just say something here... I appreciate their modesty in saving themselves for their husbands (ahem, that was the original reason, you ignoramuses! MODESTY! It's not anti-feminism!). And hey... why not ban facial coverings in general? So... I can just walk in an airport or bank with a skimask? Yes?.. No! Well, then, do I detect a hint of... hmm... I can't make it out exactly... oh, yes, racism?... Hmm...
—Guest Sabrina

Yes

The quran ORDERS women to cover up and the buqa covers you up...now stop twisting the truth about it not being a religious thing. It is an opressive deliberate atempt to build up a wall between us and them and truying to create a subculture rather then intergrate.Relegion is something personal and should not bother or offend other people and a person refusing to shake my hand because of my genda or not looking somebody in the face when comunicating with them in my own country offensive.
